birds.cool is a small, privately operated bird-feeder journal. This policy explains the limited information the site and its Instagram integration may process.
Information we process
- Bird-feeder photos, videos, timestamps, species suggestions, and related journal data.
- Names, comments, and heart selections that visitors voluntarily submit on birds.cool.
- Instagram authorization tokens, account and media identifiers, publishing status, aggregate like counts, and public comments for the connected @realcoolbirds professional account.
- Basic server logs used for security and reliability, which may include an IP address, browser information, and request time.
How we use information
We use this information only to operate the bird journal, publish selected bird clips, prevent duplicate posts, display family reactions, moderate comments, diagnose failures, and protect the service.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Information is shared only with service providers needed to run birds.cool and with Meta or Instagram when using their publishing and engagement features.
Retention and security
Publishing records are retained while needed to operate the integration and prevent duplicate posts. Instagram credentials remain server-side and are retained until revoked or replaced. Visitor comments remain until deleted. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may revoke Instagram access through your Instagram settings. To request deletion of information associated with birds.cool, follow the data deletion instructions.
Children
birds.cool is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above will identify the current version.
